Five months since her appointment as global merchandising director at All Saints, Anita Barr is on the move again. She will be joining Harvey Nichols as its new group buying director at the end of March. She will be responsible for womenswear, menswear and accessories buying and report to new chief executive Stacey Cartwright, who joined Harvey Nichols last month.
Cartwright said, “I am delighted that Anita will be joining the senior management team. This is an exciting time for Harvey Nichols and her expertise and experience in this market will help strengthen our fashion leadership in the sector.”
Barr is moving to Harvey Nichols from All Saints where she is global merchandising director.
Barr said, “I am thrilled to be joining Harvey Nichols in this transformative chapter in the long and proud history of one of the world’s leading luxury department stores.”

Barr previously held senior positions in buying and merchandising at Harrods and Selridges.

Jimmy Choo co-founder Tamara Mellon’s autobiography, In Her Shoes, went on sale in London today. She speaks candidly about the struggles she faced on her way to the top.
Tamara is launching her new ready-to-wear collection at Harrods in November. It will include handbags and shoes. The collection which mirrors her own style, will also be available at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and online at Net-A-Porter.
With this collection she aims to do “a monthly fashion drop”, solving the problem of having to buy clothes in the wrong season.
She says, “I don’t know any woman who wants to buy her winter coat in July” Hers will be available in September.
