The journey to entrepreneurship starts with the decision to ignore all stop signs in your mind and truly GO for what you want! As an entrepreneur it is also important to check in for little pit stops and nourishment on your way. My work and travels took me to eight cities around the world starting with London to Prague via Cape Town and then on to Paris and several visits to Lyon.

Nothing To Wear- Find Your Signature Style

An impression is formed of you within the first 45 seconds of meeting. Your style defines your life. You feel the way you look. Is your style holding you back? Does it influence your self confidence, costing you promotions, money and love?

Two things make you different: how you see the world and how the world sees you.

I know how going though the different phases of life can erode your sense of style. Having worked as a television news anchor, university lecturer and senior corporate manager, I now spend my time helping women succeed in their own businesses and careers. I teach my clients to take the doubt out of dressing by learning style strategies.

My clients continue to inspire me as I help them look slimmer, taller and younger. Style is about self-knowledge and attainable aspirations, investment and return.

I believe we are born with an innate sense of style but sometimes life gets in the way. Your busy schedule and the many roles you play leave little time for strategy planning on the image front. Every wardrobe contains it’s fair share of fashion mistakes, clashing colours and styles, impulse buys and disappointments.

Invest in yourself. When you do, you will wake up ready to conquer the world each day.“Change your Look; Change your Life.” – Engela Minshull

Galeries Lafayette Returns To Beijing, China.

Fifteen years after its first foray into China, French Department store Galeries Lafayette is officially reopening in Beijing tomorrow. The chain opened a store in Beijing in 1997 but closed a year later as the market was not mature enough. Thierry Vannier, director of the international department says “we are planning to open 16 outlets in China in the coming 5 years.” Hong Kong based I.T. limited owns a 50% stake in the new store. The store is about half the size of the boulevard Haussman store in Paris, in the 9th arrondissement.

Theophile Bader and his cousin Alphonse Kahn opened the store in a small haberdasher’s in 1895 on the corner of rue La Fayette and Chaussee d’Antin. A year later they purchased the entire building at No 1 rue La Fayette. In 1905 they expanded by aquiring no 38, 40 and 42, boulevard Haussman as well as no 15 rue de la Chaussee d’Antin.

Karl Lagerfeld thinking pink at Chanel.

“Think pink as Diana Vreeland said – but don’t wear it”. Thus starts the chapter on style in The World According to Karl; a collection on the wit and wisdom of Karl Lagerfeld.

Famous last words or provocative controversiality? His Spring/Summer 2014 and Autumn/Winter 2014 collections looked decidedly rose tinted. Raspberry deconstructed boucle suits, were followed by delicate, tiered chiffon dresses reminiscent of an artist’s colourful palette.
